This year’s festival features:

  • Theatre Workshops for 55+ in Acting, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Comedy Improv, and Creative Movement
    (No Experience Necessary)
  • Performances by seniors in Music, Theatre, Dance, Poetry, and Storytelling
  • Timms Arts Café and Symposium on Creative Aging
  • Free (light) refreshments!
  • $10 / Workshop or Performance

Friday June 8, 2012
Daytime:
Tea and Coffee 11am

Introduction to Acting Workshop 12 – 2:30pm
Come learn how to read a script and play a character with theatre director Dawn Sadoway

Light Refreshments 2:30 – 3pm

Rock ‘n’ Roll Workshop 3 – 5:30pm
Who says seniors can’t rock? Come sing out loud with local musician and actor Paul Morgan Donald

Evening:
A Bit of This and A Bit of That: Variety Show 7 – 9pm
Enjoy an evening of performances by talented senior artists and groups on the Timms’ Main Stage
Evening reception to follow

Saturday June 9, 2012
Daytime:
Tea and Coffee 11am

Comedy Improv Workshop 12 – 2:30pm
Improvise with humour and have a laugh with Rapid Fire Theatre’s Joleen Ballandine

Light Refreshments 2:30 – 3pm

Creative Movement Workshop 3 – 5:30pm
Express ideas through movement, even if you have never danced before! Explore your potential in a safe and small class with award-winning choreographer Marie Nychka

Evening:
Plays, Plays, and more Plays! 7 – 9pm
An evening of theatre performances by seniors and intergenerational groups
on the Timms’ Main S tage
Evening reception to follow

Timms’ Arts Café 12 – 1:15pm
Stand-up, Storytelling, Scenes, and Singing! A potpourri of performances by up and coming senior artists

Light Refreshments 1:15 – 2pm

Creative Aging Symposium 2 – 3:30pm
Join our discussion on:

  • What seniors accomplish through the arts
  • How Edmonton can help seniors explore the arts
  • What the Creative Age Festival should look like in 2013
