Launched in 2008, the Creative Age Festival recognizes, encourages and supports the engagement of seniors in the arts through theatre, music, visual and literary arts, and dance.
As a small, volunteer-based organization, we depend on the generosity of like-minded individuals and organizations to produce this showcase that celebrates ageing gracefully. We’re proud of the work we do to support the power of arts to energize and transform older adults – and hope you are too and will get involved as a donor.
As a donor you too can be a part of engaging seniors in the arts. Seniors involved in the creative arts are connected to their communities, often in intergenerational and intercultural groups. They share experiences, wisdom, resources, joy and laughter. This kind of meaningful participation empowers seniors to maintain their sense of wellbeing.
Did you know? Albertans receive one of the highest charitable tax credits in Canada: 25% for every dollar donated under $200 annually and 50% on every dollar donated over $200 annually!
How can I make a bigger difference? Never fear, there are many ways you can increase your donor power and make an even bigger difference. Contact us, we would be happy to begin that conversation.
Are you aware of the Employee Matched Giving Program? Ask your employer about gift-matching. Many companies have a program in place to support their employees’ charities of choice.
Give the gift of the arts. On special occasions, instead of a regular gift, consider the gift that keeps on giving by making a donation in your loved one’s honour to the Creative Age Festival. This is perfect for the older adults in your family who may not want to expand their homes with more stuff!
Tell your family and friends. Let your friends and family know that you support the festival and why.
How do I make my donation? It’s easy. Simply donate by mail with your cheque or money order. Please make cheques payable to Edmonton Seniors Coordinating Council and mark “Creative Age Festival” in the memo line.
